It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that after the success of Northeast Hackathon 2019, we are now organizing the Northeast Startup Festival, a three-day program from January 20 to 23, 2022 to be held at Khanapara Veterinary Field, Guwahati.

The mission of organizing the Hackathon is to identify the best talents across educational institutions and colleges in developing problem-solving ability amongst students in different sectors and encourage them to enter the startup ecosystem. With this in mind, we teamed up with Assam Science and Technology University to organize Assam Hackathon in 2018 and then the Northeast Hackathon in 2019 – extending it to the whole Northeastern Region.

This year, the Northeast Startup Festival will cover Northeast Hackathon, an Entrepreneur Expo and a cultural festival that is being organized on a national level with 10 teams each from North, South, East and West Zones and 40 teams from Northeastern Region. This will involve around 300 base teams comprising 1,200 students from all over the country in finding solutions to problem statements in 5 defined sectors. In the final rounds, the top teams from each of the four zones will compete with the top teams from NE online, brainstorm among themselves, get mentors, and create startups in developing areas. Ten best teams will be provided incubation facilities. They will be involved in product development through mentoring by a host of experts from industry and academia with funding support from the industry across the country.

You may probably, by now, visualize that Northeast Startup Festival is an educational program converged with problem solving skills in real-life and is thus expected to accelerate the startup eco-system which, in turn, is expected to create employment opportunities and propel the growth of startup companies.
